President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the “Notary Law”

According to the amendment, except for the cases provided in the second and third parts of Article 29 of the “Notary Law”, in cases where exemptions from payment of state duty on notarization are provided in accordance with the “Law on State duty” of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the duty and fees for notarization shall not be paid to notaries.

 

Besides, a new article on features of state duty and fee on notarization have been added to the law.

 

According to the addition, there are a number of documents that do not require state duty or fee for notarization: a document not considered to be issued to a client, a certified copy of a document kept at notary office, a certified document obtained through electronic information systems or resources and transferred to hard copy.

 

In addition, the president has signed a Decree on amendments to the “Notary Law” of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 27.02.2021. According to the Decree, within two months, the Cabinet of Ministers, in coordination with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, shall make relevant amendments to the "Instruction on condacting notarial acts in the Republic of Azerbaijan."
